That Saturday we went to Millenia Walk to check out some shops there. We stumbled upon this Vietnamese restaurant. I guess it was located at Tan Quee Lan street few before it moved to this location. No wonder the name sounds familiar.
We ordered Beef Ball Noodle Soup ($10.50), Vietnamese Fried Calamari ($13.50), and Tamarind Prawn ($15.50).
The beef ball noodle soup tasted great and refreshing, served within 10 minutes upon ordering. The beef balls were soft and chewy. It comes with additional raw veggies that you can put together in the hot soup.
While the beef ball soup was satisfying, the same doesn’t apply for the other two dishes that we tried. The Vietnamese Calamari was very small in portion. They were bland, covered in thin coating, I don’t even bother to take picture of it. I couldn’t figure out what’s so Vietnamese about this dish either. And the exorbitant price tag of $13.50 doesn’t justify this at all.
We waited more than 30 minutes for the Tamarind Prawn. Please note that the restaurant wasn’t even half full (it was a Saturday). And when the dish was served I was so surprised to find that there were only three skinny prawns on the plate. On a positive side, it tasted great although I wouldn’t come back for a second time.
My suggestion is if you have to dine here, go for the Pho.
